Sharp’s 90-Inch Television Arrives Nigeria

Sharp, Middle East and Africa, part of Sharp Corporation, has announced the arrival of the world’s largest commercially available television, the 90 inch Aqua Led to Nigeria.

The anticipated product, Sharp’s 90 inch wall of entertainment is a breath-taking marvel of technology, which weighs 64 kg, and roughly measures 2m in width, and 1.2m in height with a diagonal screen size of more than 2.2m (90 inches).

Present at the unveiling of the product, which took place in Lagos, weekend, during a regional event hosted by SHARP was Sharp’s Director for Africa Operations, Mr.  Arun Ardhanari, Tristar Singapore and 200 other distributors from countries in the sub-Saharan Africa.
The Director, Consumer Electronics at Sharp MEA, Mr. Tagami Yasuharu, said the company is truly delighted to offer its customers in Nigeria the much anticipated 90” AQUOS LED television.
According to him, with a very strong appetite among Nigeria consumer for modern technology, our focus is on nurturing this demand and growing the market share in this market.

Ardhanari added “With thousands of Sharp televisions already sold across the region, we believe the new 90 inch AQUOS LED TV completes our product offering in Nigeria now ranging from 60 inch to 90 inch TVs. The 90 inch AQUOS LED TV will be available through Tristar Singapore at N4, 449, 449.”

LED TVs, Sharp’s unique proposition is leading the demand in the region for 60” and above TV segment.

“What differentiates us from our competition is our lead and superiority in LED/LCD technology, which together with Sharp’s strong brand values, helps us offer consumers state-of-the-art products priced to meet their aspirations,” Ardhanari said.

General Manager, Consumer Electronics at Sharp MEA, Manu Mahdi, also stated that Sharp is pioneering cost-effective LCD/LED TV productions from Sakai City, Japan, where the company has the world’s only tenth generation LCD factory.

He explained that the 90” TV, with its X-Gen Panel Technology, feature a number of differentiating characteristics, including a world of colours; because it has a wider aperture ratio which allows easy light transmission through the panel giving a superb image contrast quality, at much lower power consumption.

“Sharp uses a method in which UV light controls liquid crystal molecules to ensure uniform alignment. The result is a high precision picture and a deep black & fantastic white at Pico meter level.
“The smart TV also comes with Wi-Fi capabilities, which means that users no longer need to worry about cables and connections. Our Mobile HD Link connects your mobile with your Sharp TV and uses the TV’s remote to control mobile apps and content. When connected to the system, your mobile receives power and is charged,” he said.
