Paraguay to invest US$820mn in sanitation works

Paraguay's public works and communications ministry (MOPC) has feasible sanitation projects in the pipeline and around US$820mn in financing.

The initiatives include a US$50mn sewerage project set to benefit Itauguá, San Juan Bautista, Areguá, Ypacaraí, Tobatí, Santa Rita, Carapeguá, Horqueta and San Ignacio, a ministry statement said.

During the signing of a contract with Japan's Kyowa Engineering Consultants for the construction of a new water treatment plant in Yataity del Guairá, minister Ramón Jiménez Gaona highlighted the progress made on a water and sanitation project in Ciudad del Este and on a water pipeline being built in central Chaco region.
