Enjoy;

Is Djinee, a nick name, pet name or a real name?

Djinee is an alias. It’s gotten from the mythical “genie” who makes people’s wishes come true . . .

As a child, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

Many things crossed my mind. But music has always stayed constant.

What was your best/worst memorable moments during your High school days?

It was when I sang in front of the whole school. And people were marvelled at my performance. For my worst moments, it was when I got expelled from school. It wasn’t all that rosy for me.

Expelled! Why were you expelled?

It’s a long story, but I wasn’t a bad boy.

It’s obvious you don’t want to talk about it. Is there something, anything that when you look back, you’d wish you could change?

There is nothing really. Even my mistakes, and struggles have made me who I am today.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

It depends on what love means to different people.

So what does love mean to you?

Love is unconditional and must have no string attached.

What’s your idea of an ideal date?

I don’t believe in the term “date.” Every day is a date with someone interesting

So what’s your relationship status?

I’m very single

And what’s your favorite wear ?

Tee shirt and jeans

Pastime?

Listening to music

Everyone has a bad quality. What’s yours?

Impatience

How did your journey into professional music begin?

It’s a long one. I started by listening to music at a young age. I jumped from one studio to another studio, and groups until I had my big break in 2004/2005. Before then ,I’d started work with a music and lifestyle channel, Sound City as a Producer/VeeJay. I quit the job in 2007

What projects are you working on currently?

I’m working on the release of my new single. I ‘m also working on my new album amongt others projects.

Tell us something about your new album?

I just know that it’s going to be pure magic.

In other words, your lips are sealed?

Kind of.

And when do we expect this pure magic to drop?

In three months time.

What is the weirdest thing that has ever happened between you and a fan?

It was the day a fan jumped on me while I was on stage. She almost ripped off my shirt.

And what was your reaction?

I smiled. But the event security men came to my aid on that day. It’s happened more than once but I still appreciate the love my fans show to me. I don’t look down on them at such moment.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

Different people. My dad and mom, Rev Fr. Patrick, Nelson Mandela and musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay.

What lessons did you learn from them?

Simplicity

What are the most important things you’ve learnt from life?

To have your own yardstick for success. (No look another person).

What are the things you are looking forward to?

Taking my music globally . . . Asia especially

Why Asia?

You know market wey dey dia?
