Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen Sunday attacked Zangan village in Atakar chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The gunmen were said to have arrived the village at about 11.a.m Sunday and opened fire at a church where the villagers where holding a service.

The prompt arrival of soldiers deployed to the troubled area since the first attack last month which led to the death of over people was said to have averted what would have been yet another bloody massacre in the area.

The attackers were said to have run into the bush when they realised the presence of the soldiers who where said to have responded immediately.

The Kaduna State Police Command could not however be reach to confirm the incident as the command's spokesman DSP Aminu Lawan was not responding to THISDAY's phone calls.
