Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), is the 8th rank in Nigeria's national honours.

The National Honours are commendations given to noteworthy Nigerians and Foreign friends for their achievements in the advancement of the Nigerian society.

They were initiated by the National Honours Act of 1963 and are the mandate of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The National Honours in ranking order are: GCFRGCON, CFRCON, OFR, OON, MFR, and MON. Other honours also exist for the Armed Forces and Security Services.
